In order to insure humane treatment of illegal immigrants and poor American citizens, I propose that we, as a nation, switch to socialize our emergency-care programs. That is, to allow the government to control hostpital's emergency care, or to set government owned emergency care centers around the nation. These emergency care places will offer free treatments and diagnoses of any patients, and they will not be allowed to question the citizenship of these patients. With this new emergency health care program in place, poor Americans and illegal immigrants won't have to stay at home and suffer when they have an injury they can't afford. Free universal health care should be provided by a society, not by patients' wallets. Many believe socialized health care is a beginning of a "red" invasion. I assure you, it is in no way connected to communism, it is simply a way for the government to help the needy and helpless. Also, with the prevention of future epidemics and outbreaks, this new medical plan would have an undrastic change on American tax dollars. It seems we can prevent our own citizens from recieving inhumane treatments without spending a dime.

Illegal immigrants and the economy

Illegal immigrants contribute both positively and negatively towards the United Sates economy. These immigrants are a cheap source of labor, will do the essential jobs that nobody else wants to do (such as cleaning or construction), buy our products, and leave before they collect their social security checks (thus leaving it in a surplus). All of these things boost our economy and in some cases, are essential. However, there are also some negative aspects towards the economy. The immigrants' children devour our tax dollars by attending public schools, the immigrants themselves sometimes make so little that they never pay taxes, and both use public transportation and public health care.
Everyone is affected by these immigrants' effect on the economy, but some are more than others. For example, entrepreneurs who benefit from the cheap labor and the increase in consumers, lawmakers who are passing new policy about taxes, public schools, and health care, and stock brokers who bid on different companies would all be wise to examine the immigrants' effect on the economy.
